The Food System is broken!

Over 800 million people go hungry every day, yet one third of all food currently goes to waste. Obviously, there are basic logistical challenges to getting the surplus to the hungry, but at a fundamental level this should be solvable.

In turn the food industry bears responsibility for the fact that over 650 million people are obese, yet it’s governments and taxpayers that pick up the cost of treatment in most cases. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s hard to ignore; the increase in pollutants in the air is having a serious impact on human health, function and well-being. Outdoor air pollution has grown by 8% globally in the past 5 years, with billions of people around the world now exposed to dangerous air. It causes up to 7 million early deaths a year—more than malaria and human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) combined—and is now the greatest single killer in the world.
