Elisabeth Philips: Technical Support
Dr Elisabeth Philipps PhD, BSc (Hons), BSc Nutr Med NNA is a neuropharmacologist and Functional Medicine nutritional therapist with over 18 years experience. She runs a thriving health consultancy Hartwell Nutrition specialising in brain and gut health, where she provides expert opinion for private clients, corporate business programmes, the national media, specialist healthcare publications and health companies. Elisabeth’s extensive academic training includes a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Kings College London, a PhD in Neuropharmacology from Oxford University and a BSc in Nutritional Medicine, where she trained with Dr Lawrence Plaskett at Thames Valley University. Elisabeth is also bound by a strict code of ethics in clinical practice, governed by the Naturopathic Nutrition Association.
Alongside her private practice, Elisabeth is leading consultant for Nutrigold co-ordinating their busy technical and educational team, as well as technical advisor for Nutri-Link and contributing to the highly successful leader in post-graduate education organisation – Clinical Education. For these organisations, she is a keynote speaker, researching, writing and delivering regular presentations on a variety of functional nutrition and clinical health topics to consumers and practitioners, as well as developing a range of bioavailable and efficacious food supplements.
Elisabeth is passionate about patient-centred education and Functional Medicine, and having completed the prestigious Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) training AFMCP™ (Applied Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice) course, she was instrumental in creating nutrihub online functional nutrition training platform where she is now lead content creator and head tutor for the online consumer and practitioner FM-based nutrition training and CPD courses.
Elisabeth also loves her yoga, taking to her mat in regular sessions and courses, as well as completing the foundation level of yoga teacher training. When Elisabeth isn’t working or enjoying a yoga session you will find her walk the coastal paths of Dorset and the Northamptonshire in with her beloved Border Terrier.
