Lutein 20mg x 60 Soft Gels
Lutein is a type of vitamin called a carotenoid. It is related to beta-carotene and vitamin A. Foods rich in lutein include egg yolks, broccoli, spinach, kale, corn, orange pepper, kiwi fruit, grapes, orange juice, zucchini, and squash.
Lutein is absorbed best when it is taken with a high-fat meal.
Lutein has been found in the eye, brain, breast, and cervix. In the eye, it is found in the retina, ciliary iris bodies, and lens, but mostly it occurs in the macular region. Increased serum levels of lutein can increase macular pigment density, which helps to quench free radicals that result from photo-oxidation by enhancing the filtering of blue light.
